Don't Lose £Pounds! Lose Weight With the New ‘Down to Earth' Diet Get those Hollywood curves on Milton Keynes Money
by Anonymous

May 14, 2004 -- Forget Atkins and Hamptons, there's a new diet on the block that, at last, will slim your waistline more than your pocket!

Inspired by Catherine Zeta Jones' new super-trim figure – achieved by healthy eating and regular exercise, rather than filling up on faddy and expensive food groups – frozen food expert, Iceland, has introduced its much more realistic ‘Down to Earth' diet.

The new ‘frozen' eating plan, endorsed by the British Nutrition Foundation is based on cheap, yet highly nutritious food and is aimed at making slimming and healthy eating easier for families with limited incomes. So mums across Britain can achieve those Hollywood star curves – even if they can't stretch to the Versace dress to show them off!

The move is in stark contrast to other diets that only seem to cater for Hollywood wage earners, demanding ingredients such as macadamia nut oil (in the Hamptons diet) which costs around £25 per litre.

Nick Canning, Iceland's marketing director, said: "With the new ‘Down to Earth' diet our aim is to make staying slim and healthy cheaper and easier than ever before. Eating healthily does not have to cost a fortune and many other diets out there require expensive foods to be turned into complicated meals. People living hectic family lives don't have the time or money to stick to them."

Based on Dr Steven Pratt's 14 SuperFoods, which have grabbed headlines recently with claims they are guaranteed to help you live longer, Iceland has teamed up with British Nutrition Foundation nutritionist, Dr Sarah Schenker to come up with the cheaper, easier eating plan that will keep all the family in fighting fit form while being part of a sensible, calorie controlled diet.

Sarah said: "Like Catherine Zeta Jones you also don't need to follow, faddy or dangerous diets to lose weight. Especially, after having a baby it's important that any diet is about eating healthily. The nutritional benefits of the 14 SuperFoods are excellent, but some are either seasonal, such as pumpkin, and are therefore expensive to get hold of, or not very widely available, such as soy.

"The reason a lot of people give up on diets is because they are often too complicated and costly to follow. By putting together this diet using alternative foods that can be bought at reasonable prices all year round we hope to help mums across the country to continue cooking convenient, well-balanced meals for the whole family, while at the same time allowing them to achieve their weight-loss and healthy eating goals."

Nick continued: "We appreciate how busy mums are and want to do everything we can to make life that little bit easier for them. Our new ‘Down to Earth' frozen diet helps mums more easily incorporate the bulk of the 14 SuperFoods into the family's everyday eating habits, while being inexpensive, quick and simple to both source and prepare. It also cuts out the need for mums to cook a separate meal from the rest of the family in order to stick to it."
